Victim in Fatal Cocoa Beach Crash Identified

The female victim in last Saturday evening’s crash at SRA1A and Shepard Drive has been identified as Dawn A. Lundquist, 39, of no known address. Lundquist and a male companion were reported to have stepped into the path of an oncoming vehicle in close proximity to the intersection. Lundquist was flown to Holmes Regional Medical Center where she was later pronounced dead. The Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the manner of death as blunt force trauma. Toxicology results on Lundquist are unavailable at this time.

The man has yet to be identified.

Two Fatally Injured in Cocoa Beach Crash

On Saturday, August 10, 2013 at approximately 10:23pm, Cocoa Beach Police responded to a crash at the intersection of North Atlantic Avenue and Shepard Drive.

The crash involved a pick-up truck and two pedestrians who were attempting to cross North Atlantic Avenue. One of the pedestrians was transported to Cape Canaveral Hospital where he was pronounced deceased. The other pedestrian was airlifted to Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne where she succumbed to her injuries.

The driver of the pick-up truck Robert Coffman, 33 of Cape Canaveral was not injured. The names of the victims are not being released pending notification of next of kin. The crash is still under investigation and no charges have been filed at this time.
